Blogs Section vs. Blog Category Template in Maison

Maison provides two different ways to display blog content:

• Blogs section
• Blog category template

Although both use the same Blog card system, they serve different purposes.

Blogs section

Use the Blogs section when you want to feature blog posts inside another page.

For example:

• Homepage
• Brand landing page
• Editorial page
• Campaign page

The merchant selects a Blog category, and Maison displays posts using:

Blogs
└── Blog list
    └── Blog card

The Blog list supports:

• Grid
• Carousel
• Up to 16 posts
• Up to 5 desktop columns
• Mobile carousel

This section is best when you want to highlight a limited number of posts without sending customers directly to the full Blog category page.

Blog category template

Use the Blog category template for the main page where customers browse posts from a Blog category.

Its default structure is:

Blog category banner
├── Breadcrumb
├── Title
└── Tag filter

Blog category
└── Blog card

The template automatically uses the Blog category the customer is currently viewing.

It supports:

• Blog category title
• Breadcrumb
• Tag filtering
• Blogs per page
• Pagination
• 1–3 desktop columns
• 1–2 mobile columns

This template is best for displaying the complete Blog category archive and letting customers browse or filter its posts.

Which one should you use?

Use Blogs section when you want to:

• Feature a small selection of blog content on another page.
• Add a Blog carousel to the homepage.
• Promote recent or important posts.
• Use a more flexible Grid or Carousel presentation.

Use Blog category template when you want to:

• Build the main Blog category page.
• Display all posts in a category.
• Allow customers to filter posts by tag.
• Use pagination for larger Blog categories.
• Automatically display the current Blog category title and content.
