The Predictive search feature in Maison displays product results while customers type in the search field, helping them find products without first opening the full search results page.
Maison can also display predefined Search suggestions when customers open the search field before entering a keyword.

The Predictive search settings are available under Theme settings > Search.
Available settings include:

Maison predictive search is designed to return product results.
STEPS:
Enable Predictive search
Enable Predictive search from the theme settings.
- Open the Maison theme editor.
- Go to Theme settings.
- Select Search.
- Enable Enable predictive search.
- Click Save.
Once enabled, Maison begins showing matching product results as customers type into the search field.
Choose the Search behavior
Maison includes a Search behavior setting that controls how customers access the search interface.
Go to Theme settings > Search and choose one of the following options:

| Drawer | Opens the search interface in a drawer. |
| Go to search page | Takes customers to the full search page. |
Predictive search can work with the Maison search interface while customers enter their search terms.
Choose the behavior that best matches your storefront navigation.
Add Search suggestions
The Search suggestions setting lets you select a menu to display useful links before customers begin typing.
- Open the Maison theme editor.
- Go to Theme settings > Search.
- Locate Search suggestions.
- Select the menu you want to use.
- Click Save.
When customers open the search field without entering a keyword, Maison can display the links from the selected menu.
This can be useful for directing customers to important collections, categories, products, or other storefront pages.
Structure the Search suggestions menu
Maison supports both direct menu links and menu items containing child links.
A menu item without child links is displayed as a direct suggestion.
A menu item with child links is displayed as a group, using the parent menu item as the group title and the child links as the selectable suggestions.
For example, the menu structure can be organized like this:

In this structure, Living room and About us appear as direct links, while Shop by Room appears as a heading with its child links underneath.
Understand Predictive search results
After a customer begins typing, Maison replaces the predefined suggestions with matching product results.
Each matching product can include:

| Product image | Displays the product's featured image. |
| Product title | Displays the product name and links to the product page. |
| Price | Displays the current product price. |
| Compare-at price | Displays the original price when the product has a higher compare-at price. |
| View results | Opens the full search results for the entered keyword. |
For products using quantity price ranges, Maison can display the minimum and maximum product prices.
If no matching products are found, a no-results message is displayed instead.
Test Predictive search
After configuring the settings:
- Open your storefront preview.
- Open the search interface.
- Confirm that your Search suggestions appear before entering a keyword.
- Start typing a product name or keyword.
- Confirm that matching products appear automatically.
- Check the product image, title, and price.
- Click a suggested product to confirm that it opens the correct product page.
- Click View results to confirm that the full search results page opens correctly.
- Test the search experience on both desktop and mobile.
Predictive search and Search suggestions
These two settings work together but serve different purposes:

| Predictive search results | Appears after the customer begins typing a search keyword. |
You can enable Predictive search without selecting a Search suggestions menu.
If no Search suggestions menu is selected, the search interface simply waits for the customer to enter a keyword before displaying predictive results.
Troubleshooting
If Predictive search does not work as expected, check the following:
- Make sure Enable predictive search is enabled under Theme settings > Search.
- Confirm that the product you are searching for is available on the storefront.
- Try searching with part of the product title.
- Make sure the search field contains a keyword before expecting product results.
- If Search suggestions do not appear, confirm that a menu has been selected under Search suggestions.
- Check that the selected suggestions menu contains valid links.
- If a suggestion group is empty, confirm that its parent menu item contains child links.
- Test both Drawer and Go to search page behavior if you are troubleshooting the search interface.
- Save the theme settings and refresh the storefront after making changes.
