The Rich text section in Maison is a flexible content section for displaying headings, formatted text, buttons, media, and other supporting content.

It is useful for:
- Brand introductions
- Editorial messages
- Campaign text
- Store information
- Calls to action
- Text with highlighted effects
The default preset contains:

STEPS:
1. Add the Rich text section
- Open the Maison theme editor.
- Open the template where you want to display the content.
- Click Add section.
- Select Rich text.
- Add, remove, or reorder the content blocks.
- Adjust the section appearance and spacing.
- Click Save.

Available blocks include:
- Subheading
- Heading
- Icon
- Description
- Rich text
- Text
- Button
- Button group
- Image
- Video
- Page
- Custom SLINE
- Divider
- Spacer
- Email signup
- Social media
2. Configure the Rich text block
The Rich text block is designed for formatted paragraph content.

Main settings include:

| Content | Adds and formats the text content. |
| Text size | Controls the text size. |
| Secondary text color | Uses the secondary text treatment. |
| Text alignment | Controls desktop alignment. |
| Text alignment on mobile | Controls mobile alignment separately. |
| Spacing | Adds space around the block. |
| Size | Controls the block width and height. |
Text size options include:
- Extra large
- Large
- Medium
- Small
- Extra small
- Custom
When Custom is selected, you can set separate desktop and mobile text sizes.
3. Add Text effects and highlights
The Rich text block supports the following Text effect options:
- None
- Reveal
- Highlight
- Reveal & highlight
When Highlight is used, available styles include:
- Colored text
- Background highlight
- Underline
- Fancy underline
- Marker
- Stencil
- Scribble
To apply a highlight, format the required text in italic using the I button in the Rich text editor.

For example:

When Scribble is selected, additional styles include:
- Circle
- Simple underline
- Sketch underline
- Squiggle underline
- Squiggle underline (alt)
You can also customize the Highlight color and, where supported, the Highlight gradient.
4. Add Background media
The Rich text section supports Background media:
- None
- Image
- Video

Background image
You can configure:
- Image
- Alt text
- Image fit: Cover or Contain
Background video
You can use:
- Uploaded video
- External URL
For an external video, Maison supports a YouTube or Vimeo URL.
Background video automatically:
- Autoplays
- Loops
- Remains muted
- Hides standard controls and the play button
Use section colors or a suitable background image/video to keep the text easy to read.
5. Configure section appearance
The Rich text section includes:
- Custom colors
- Section width
- Show section divider
- Arrangement
- Spacing
- Size
Available Section width options are:
- Narrow
- Page
- Wide
- Full
Default:
Page
The default Arrangement centers the content vertically in a column.
Default section spacing is approximately:
Desktop:
60px top
60px bottom
Mobile:
40px top
40px bottom
6. Configure Custom colors and Transparent header
Enable Custom colors to adjust:
- Text color
- Background color
- Background gradient
- Button text color
- Button background color
- Button background gradient
The section also supports Allow transparent header when it is the first section on the page.
Additional options include:
- Apply transparent text color
- Use solid header on mobile
Use transparent Header settings only when the background provides enough contrast for the Header content.
Maison example
The Maison Store locations template uses Rich text as an introductory section:

The content is center-aligned and uses a limited text width for easier reading.
Recommended setup
- Use a Heading with one supporting Rich text or Text block.
- Keep long text within a comfortable content width.
- Use separate desktop and mobile alignment when necessary.
- Use Highlight effects only on short, important phrases.
- Use Background media when it supports the message rather than distracting from it.
- Check text contrast when using Background images, videos, or Custom colors.
- Use Buttons or Button group for clear calls to action.
Notes and limitations
- Rich text is a flexible section and does not require a fixed block structure.
- Email signup and Social media are limited to one block each.
- Background media supports Image and Video.
- Background videos autoplay, loop, and remain muted.
- Highlight effects apply to emphasized text formatted in italic /
<em>. - Section width options are Narrow, Page, Wide, and Full.
- Allow transparent header only applies when Rich text is the first section on the page.
- Rich text cannot be added to Header or custom Overlay groups.
Troubleshooting
If the section does not display as expected:
- Check the block order if content appears in the wrong position.
- Check Arrangement and Text alignment if alignment is incorrect.
- If a highlight does not appear, make sure the required text is formatted in italic.
- If Background media is cropped incorrectly, check Image fit or Video fit.
- If text is difficult to read, adjust Custom colors or use a simpler background.
- If the transparent Header does not work, make sure Rich text is the first section on the page.
