Show the language selector in the Header

Use this setting to display the language selector in the desktop Header.

  • Open the Maison theme editor.
  • Select Header.
  • Enable Show language selector.
  • Click Save.

When enabled, customers can open the selector and choose from the languages available for the current market.

The language names are displayed using their native language names.

Show the country/region selector in the Header

Use the country/region selector to allow customers to switch between available markets.

  • Open the Maison theme editor.
  • Select Header.
  • Enable Show country/region selector.
  • Click Save.

The selector displays the available countries or regions and their associated currency information.

Changing the country or region updates the storefront according to the selected market configuration.

Show the country name

The Show country name setting becomes available after Show country/region selector is enabled.

To display it:

  • Open the Maison theme editor.
  • Select Header.
  • Enable Show country/region selector.
  • Enable Show country name.
  • Click Save.

The display changes depending on this setting:

Setting Display
Show country name enabled Displays the country name together with the currency code and currency symbol.
Show country name disabled Displays only the currency code and currency symbol.

For example, when Show country name is enabled, the selector can display:

When it is disabled, it can display:

USD $

Configure the selectors for mobile

Maison includes separate language and country/region selector settings for the mobile Header.

Open the Header settings and locate the mobile settings.

You can configure:

Mobile setting Description
Show language selector Displays the language selector inside the mobile menu drawer.
Show country/region selector Displays the country/region selector inside the mobile menu drawer.

These settings work independently from the desktop Header settings.

On mobile, the selectors appear in the lower area of the Menu Drawer when enabled.

Available settings include:

Setting Description
Show language selector Displays the currently selected language and allows customers to switch languages.
Show country/region selector Allows customers to select an available country or region.
Show country name Displays the selected country name together with its currency information.

When Show country name is disabled, the country/region selector displays only the currency information.

How the settings work together

The three localization settings are connected:

  • Show language selector controls language selection.
  • Show country/region selector controls market selection.
  • Show country name changes how the selected country/region is displayed.

Show country name does not enable the country selector by itself. You must first enable Show country/region selector.

The Header and Announcement bar have their own settings, so enabling a selector in one area does not automatically enable it in the other.

Troubleshooting

If the language or country/region selector does not appear, check the following:

  • Make sure Show language selector or Show country/region selector is enabled in the correct section.
  • Confirm that your store has the required languages configured in Settings > Languages.
  • Make sure the languages are assigned to the appropriate markets.
  • Confirm that multiple countries or regions are configured in Settings > Markets.
  • Make sure you are editing the correct Header or Announcement bar settings.
  • For mobile, check the separate localization settings under the mobile Header settings.
  • If Show country name is not visible in the theme editor, enable Show country/region selector first.
  • Save your changes and refresh the storefront after updating your language or market configuration.
