Why the mega menu is not working

In Be Yours theme, it is required to add text in the menu item field when configuring for the mega menu. Whenever a menu item text is added, a relevant handle is created in the backend. As a result of comparing menu item and handle, the theme identifies and trigger the mega menu.

In case you install Shopify's translation app, besides the content, the app may do translation for the menu item in the setting as well, while the handle stays the same. So, it conflicts and causes the inactive mega menu.

How to fix

You take the following steps to resolve this error:

  1. On your Shopify admin dashboard, click on the tab Apps on the left-hand navigation bar. Then, search among your installed app and click on the app Translate & Adapt.

  2. In the app's open configuration pannel, choose the language that your mega menu is facing problem.

For example, the website is having English as the orignal language and three translated languages which include Korean. When visitors view the website in Korean, the mega menu is not working. So, we will choose Korean to fix.

  3. Next, navigate to and click on the Theme Sections in the below.

  4. In the open translation window, choose Header from the left-hand navigation. You will see all translations for all header components here, find all menu title rows and change the translations to as same as the original texts.

For example, we have a menu title, 'Jelwelry', so make sure that it remains the same and is not translated in the Korean column. Check similarly for other menu titles.

  5. Finally, click Save
