Adding and removing dynamic checkout buttons

Customers can use the dynamic checkout button to quickly buy the product they're viewing. They skip the cart and complete their payment with the checkout method displayed on the button. The button dynamically changes to reflect the customer's preferred accelerated checkout method.

You can add or remove dynamic checkout buttons on any part of your online store that has an Add to cart button.

Add or remove dynamic checkout buttons on product pages

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
3. Open the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
4. Select Products > Default product to load the template in the theme editor.
5. Under Product information, do one of the following:
   • If your product information has a buy buttons block, then click Buy buttons.
   • If your product information doesn't have a buy buttons block, click + Add block and then select Buy buttons.
6. Check or uncheck Show dynamic checkout buttons.
7. Click Save.

Add or remove dynamic checkout buttons on your home page

If your home page includes a featured product section with an Add to cart button, then you can add or remove dynamic checkout buttons on that section.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.
3. Click Add section.
4. Click Featured product, and do one of the following:
   • If your featured product has a buy buttons block, then click Buy buttons.
   • If your featured product doesn't have a buy buttons block, click + Add block and then select Buy buttons.
5. Check or uncheck Show dynamic checkout buttons.
6. Click Save.

Add dynamic checkout buttons to selected products

If you want to add dynamic checkout buttons to some product pages but not others, then you need to create an alternate template. An alternate template is a duplicate theme code template that you can edit without affecting the original. You can add dynamic checkout buttons to your alternate template, and then use that template for only a selection of products.

To create an alternate product template, see Create alternate templates.

After you create an alternate product template and assign it to a product, you need to enable dynamic checkout buttons for that product.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
2. Find the theme for which you created an alternate template, and then click Customize.
3. In the theme editor, go to the product page for a product to which you've assigned the alternate template.
4. Under Product information, do one of the following:
   • If your product information has a buy buttons block, then click Buy buttons.
   • If your product information doesn't have a buy buttons block, click + Add block and then select Buy buttons.
5. Check or uncheck Show dynamic checkout buttons.
6. Click Save. The changes are applied to all of the products that uses the alternate template.
