Set up an advanced countdown timer step-by-step
- On your Shopify Admin dashboard, click Online Store > Themes.
- On the Themes page, choose Beyours theme and click on the theme's button Customize.
- Next, you navigate to the page on which you want to add the countdown timer. For example, I will add it to the home page.
- You scroll down on the left-hand menu of the Home page, click on the button Add section and insert the text "countdown timer" in the search bar to find this type of section quickly.
- After adding the Countdown timer section, you can start to make some configurations which include selecting the image, layout, content position, and alignment on the desktop and mobile, etc. You can also add any block as you want and change the title text and button settings for the section.
- To display the countdown timer with the remaining days, hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds, you need to configure the block Countdown in the Countdown timer section. In particular, you should add the data in the End date field in the format "{yyyy-mm-dd}T{hours:minutes:seconds.milliseconds}{timezone}".
For example, your deal is available until December 31st, 2022 at 11:59:59.456 PM in the timezone UTC+7. The data added should be "2022-12-31T23:59:59.456+07:00". If you do not mind the seconds and milliseconds in the countdown, you can replace the time part 59.456 with 00.000.
- The countdown timer will be displayed on the front end with the dynamic time measurements of days, hours, minutes, and seconds left.
