Be Yours 9.4.0 introduces a refreshed default visual style for new theme installs.
The theme's signature look moves from a champagne-inspired palette to a cleaner white and black base with an acid-lime accent. This gives new stores a sharper, more modern starting point while keeping the flexibility of the Be Yours design system.
Important:
- This new look applies to new theme installs.
- Existing stores that update to Be Yours 9.4.0 keep their current colors and settings.
- Updating the theme does not overwrite your existing theme style, color setup, typography, or button settings.
1. Understanding the New Default Look
The new default look updates the visual direction of the theme for merchants installing Be Yours for the first time.
Main visual updates include:

When Be Yours 9.4.0 is installed as a new theme, the refreshed default look is applied automatically.
This means new stores can start with:

- Stronger headline styling
- Button typography that matches the heading font
- A more modern default storefront appearance
You can still customize the theme from the Theme Editor and Theme settings after installation.
3. What Happens When You Update an Existing Store
If you update an existing Be Yours theme to version 9.4.0, your current design settings stay untouched.
Your existing setup remains the same, including:
- Current color schemes
- Theme settings
- Typography settings
- Button settings
- Section settings
- Product card settings
- Header and footer settings
The new default palette does not automatically replace the design of existing stores.
This protects stores that already have a completed brand setup.
4. Customize the Color Style
You can customize the theme colors from Theme settings.
To edit theme colors:
- From Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Find the Be Yours theme and click Customize.
- Click the Theme settings icon.
- Open the color-related settings.
- Adjust the colors to match your brand.
- Click Save.
Use these settings if you want to adjust the default white, black, or accent color styling.
5. Customize Typography and Headings
The refreshed default look uses bolder, capitalized headlines.
To adjust typography:
- From Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Find the Be Yours theme and click Customize.
- Click the Theme settings icon.
- Open the typography-related settings.
- Adjust heading font, body font, and heading style as needed.
- Click Save.
If you prefer a softer or less editorial style, you can adjust the heading settings to match your brand.
6. Customize Button Style
In the new default look, buttons use the heading font by default.
To adjust button styling:
- From Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Find the Be Yours theme and click Customize.
- Click the Theme settings icon.
- Open the button-related settings.
- Adjust the button font, style, colors, or border settings as needed.
- Click Save.
This allows the buttons to stay aligned with your store's branding.
7. Notes and Limitations
Please note the following behavior:
- The refreshed look is the new default style for Be Yours 9.4.0.
- The new default style is mainly visible on new theme installs.
- Existing stores keep their current colors and settings when updating.
- Updating to Be Yours 9.4.0 does not automatically switch your store to the new white, black, and acid-lime palette.
- Existing color schemes and branding are preserved during the update.
- Merchants can manually adjust colors, typography, and button styles in Theme settings.
- The new look is a starting point and can be customized like other Be Yours styling options.
Troubleshooting
If the new default look does not appear as expected, please check the following:
- Make sure you are using Be Yours version 9.4.0 or later.
- If you updated an existing theme, your previous style is expected to remain unchanged.
- If you want to use the new look on an existing store, manually adjust your colors, typography, and button settings in Theme settings.
- If you installed a new copy of the theme, check whether the theme was customized after installation.
- If colors or typography look different from the demo, check your current Theme settings.
- Clear your browser cache and refresh the storefront.
- Make sure you are using the latest version of the Be Yours theme.
