How to Set Up the Testimonials Section in Be Yours

The Testimonials section displays customer feedback in a rotating testimonial showcase. Each testimonial can include a customer photo, rating or quote icon, review text, and author name.

Demo Usage

You can see the Testimonials section in the Be Yours – Beauty demo:

• Beauty Homepage — “What customers say”, below Curated sets and above Nature Meets Science.
• Skincare Collection — “What customers say”, above the FAQs section.

Steps:

1. Add the Testimonials Section

• From Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and click Customize.
• Open the page template where you want the section.
• Click Add section and select Testimonials.
• Add or edit Testimonial blocks.
• Click Save.

2. Configure the Section Settings

Setting	Description
Auto-rotate testimonials	Automatically switches between testimonials. Disabled by default.
Change testimonials every	Sets the rotation interval: 3, 5, 7, or 9 seconds.
Hide testimonial images	Hides the testimonial image thumbnails.
Show section divider	Adds a divider above the section.
Heading	Adds the section title.
Heading size	Small, Medium, or Large.
Heading alignment	Left, Center, or Right.
Heading tag	Selects the heading's semantic tag.

Note: The rotation interval applies when Auto-rotate testimonials is enabled and multiple testimonials are present.

3. Add Testimonial Blocks

Each Testimonial block contains one customer review.

• Open the Testimonials section and click Add block > Testimonial.
• Configure the block's content and appearance.
• Repeat to add more reviews, then click Save.

Block setting	Description
Icon	None, Quote, or a rating from 1 to 5 stars.
Testimonial	Customer review text.
Author's image	Optional customer or reviewer photo.
Author	Customer or reviewer name.
Enable highlight	Applies highlight styling to italic text in the review or author field.
Highlight style	Selects the highlight effect for that block.

With one block, the section displays a single testimonial rather than rotating through multiple reviews.

4. Configure Auto-Rotation and Images

• Enable Auto-rotate testimonials to switch automatically between reviews.
• Adjust Change testimonials every to set the interval.
• Enable Hide testimonial images if you prefer to show only the testimonial content.
• Click Save.

When testimonial images are enabled, the section displays small reviewer images alongside the testimonials. If an image is not assigned, a placeholder may appear.

5. Configure Colors, Highlight, and Spacing

Setting	Description
Highlight	Sets the section's highlight color.
Enable highlight	Enables highlight styling for the section heading.
Highlight style	Chooses the heading highlight effect.
Top padding	Adjusts space above the section.
Bottom padding	Adjusts space below the section.

The section heading and individual Testimonial blocks have separate Enable highlight and Highlight style controls.

To highlight text: Select the words you want to highlight in the text editor and click the italic (I) button, then enable the related Enable highlight setting.

6. Notes and Troubleshooting

• Add at least one Testimonial block to display customer feedback.
• If the section does not rotate, check that there are multiple blocks and Auto-rotate testimonials is enabled.
• If reviewer photos are missing, check Hide testimonial images and each block's Author's image setting.
• If a star rating or quote icon is missing, check the block's Icon selection.
• If highlighted text does not appear, apply italic formatting and enable highlight in the correct section or block.
• Version note: Be Yours 8.4.0 fixed an issue where the Testimonials section could disappear when it contained only one block. If you experience this on an older version, update the theme.
