The Rich Text section helps you add flexible text content to any page of your store. You can use it for short brand messages, promotional content, page introductions, storytelling, call-to-action areas, image-supported text, custom icons, or custom Liquid content.

This section is built with content blocks, so you can combine headings, text, buttons, links, icons, images, spacing, app blocks, and custom Liquid in the same area.
How to Set Up the Rich Text Section in Concept
Steps:
Add the Rich Text section
-
From your Shopify admin, open Online Store > Themes.
-
Click Customize on your Concept theme.
-
Open the template where you want to display the section.

After adding the section, you can configure the section heading, add content blocks, adjust alignment, and customize colors and spacing.

-
Use Text alignment to control the content alignment on desktop.

This alignment applies to the main rich text content area inside the section.
Configure the section heading area
-
Open the Rich Text section settings.
-
Add a Heading if you want to show a section title.
-
Use Heading size to control the heading scale.
-

-
Add a Description if you want supporting text in the section heading area.

-
Inside the Rich Text section, click Add block.
-
Select Heading.
-
Enter the heading text.
-
Use Heading size to adjust the heading style.
-
Use Heading tag to choose the HTML tag for the block heading.
-
Use the highlighted text settings if you want to highlight part of the heading.
The Heading block is useful when you want the main title to appear inside the rich text content area instead of the section heading area.
Add a Text block
-
Inside the Rich Text section, click Add block.
-
Select Text.
-
Enter your content in the Text field.
-
Use Text font to choose between body, heading, or subtitle styling.

The Text block supports rich text formatting, so you can add basic formatting such as bold text, links, and paragraphs.
Add buttons and links
-
Click Add block inside the Rich Text section.
-
Select Button if you want a styled call-to-action button.
-
Enter the Button label.
-
Add the Button link.
-
Choose the Button style.
-

-
Enable Open link in new tab if the button links to an external page.

-
Or upload a custom image using Custom icon image.

-

The Icon block is useful for small trust badges, service icons, feature highlights, or decorative content.
Add an Image block
-
Click Add block inside the Rich Text section.
-
Select Image.
-
Choose the image you want to display.
-
Use Image width to show the image at full width or custom width.
-
If you choose custom width, adjust the desktop and mobile max width settings.
The Image block is useful for logos, badges, small illustrations, decorative images, or supporting visuals.
Add spacing, app, or custom Liquid blocks
-
Add a Spacing block if you want extra space between content blocks.
-
Adjust the desktop and mobile spacing height separately.
-
Add an App block if an installed Shopify app provides a compatible app block.
-
Add a Custom Liquid block if you need to display custom Liquid, HTML, or app embed code.
Use these blocks only when needed, so the section stays easy to manage.
Configure highlighted text
-
Open the section settings or the block that contains the text you want to highlight.
-
Find the Highlighted text setting.
-
Choose a highlight style such as text, full text, half text, underline, marker, stencil, or scribble.
-
If you choose Scribble, select the scribble style.
-
Enable Reveal on scroll if you want the highlight to animate when the section appears.
-
Use the highlight color or highlight gradient settings in the section color settings.
To apply a highlight, select the text you want to highlight in the rich text editor and apply italic formatting. The theme uses the italic-marked text as the highlighted text target.
Configure colors and section layout
-
Use Text color to adjust the text color.
-
Use Background or Background gradient to change the section background.
-
Use Highlight color or Highlight gradient for highlighted text effects.

Notes
-
The section can be used on most templates where Shopify allows regular sections.
-
The section is not available inside the overlay group.
-
The default preset includes a Heading block, Text block, and Button block.
-
You can reorder blocks by dragging them in the theme editor.
-
You can hide unused blocks by clicking the eye icon.
-
The section heading area and the content blocks are separate. You can use either one or both.
-
Highlighted text works best when only short words or phrases are highlighted.
Troubleshooting
If the Rich Text section does not display as expected, check the following:
-
Make sure the section has been added to the correct template.
-
Make sure the section or block is not hidden in the theme editor.
-
If a button does not appear, make sure the button label is filled in.
-
If a link does not work, make sure the link field is not empty.
-
If an icon does not appear, choose a built-in icon or upload a custom icon image.
-
If an image does not appear, make sure an image has been selected in the Image block.
-
If highlighted text does not appear, make sure the text you want to highlight is formatted in italic.
-
If the layout feels too wide, enable Narrow page width.
-
If the spacing looks too large or too small, adjust the section padding or add/remove Spacing blocks.
