How to Set Up the Testimonials Banner Section in Concept
The Testimonials Banner section lets you display customer testimonials over a large image banner. It is useful for showing reviews, customer quotes, press comments, brand trust messages, or social proof in a visually strong area of your storefront.

This section supports desktop and mobile background images, testimonial blocks, author details, author images, star or quote icons, highlighted text, overlay color, parallax effects, full-width layout, and transparent header support.
How to Set Up the Testimonials Banner Section in Concept
Steps:
Add the Testimonials Banner section

From your Shopify admin, open Online Store > Themes.

Click Customize on your Concept theme.

Open the template where you want to display the testimonials banner.
-
Click Add section.
-
Select Testimonials Banner.
-
Drag the section to the position where you want it to appear.
-
Click Save.
After adding the section, you can upload the banner image and add testimonial blocks.
Add the banner image
-
Open the Testimonials Banner section.
-
Use the Image setting to upload or select the desktop banner image.
-
Use Image height to control the banner height on desktop.
-
Upload a Mobile image if you want to show a different image on mobile devices.
-
Use Image height mobile to control the banner height on mobile.
-
Click Save.

If no image is selected, the theme displays a placeholder image until you add your own banner image.
Adjust the testimonial position
-
Open the Testimonials Banner section.
-
Use Content position to choose where the testimonial content appears on desktop.
-
Use Content position mobile to choose where the testimonial content appears on mobile.
-
Click Save.

The testimonial content is displayed on top of the banner image, so choose a position that works well with the image composition.
Add a testimonial block
-
Open the Testimonials Banner section.
-
Click Add block.
-
Select Testimonial.
-
Use Icon to choose the icon shown with the testimonial.
-
Add the testimonial content in the Text field.
-
Add the customer name in the Author field.
-
Add extra author details in Author info, such as location, job title, or customer type.
-
Add an Author URL if the author name should link to another page.
-
Click Save.

The section supports up to 9 testimonial blocks.
Add an author image
-
Open a Testimonial block.
-
Upload or select an image in the Image setting.
-
Use Image ratio to choose how the image is displayed.
-
If Adapt is selected, use Image height to control the displayed image height.
-
Click Save.

The author image appears inside the testimonial content and can be used for a customer photo, avatar, logo, or review source image.
Use highlighted text
-
Open a Testimonial block.
-
Add the testimonial text in the Text field.
-
Apply italic formatting to the words you want to highlight.
-
Use Highlighted text to choose the highlight style.
-
Click Save.
Please use italic formatting by selecting the text you want to highlight and then clicking the italic (I) button in the editor.

Customize colors and overlay
-
Open the Testimonials Banner section.
-
Use Text color to adjust the testimonial text color.
-
Use Background or Background gradient to style the section background.
-
Use Highlight or Highlight gradient to style highlighted text.
-
Use Overlay color to add a color layer over the banner image.
-
Use Overlay opacity to make the overlay lighter or darker.
-
Click Save.
Overlay settings are useful when the testimonial text needs more contrast over bright or detailed images.
Configure section layout

Open the Testimonials Banner section.
-
Enable Transparent header if you want the header to overlap this banner when the section is placed at the top of the page.

Use Top padding and Bottom padding to adjust the section spacing.

Enable Show section divider if you want a divider line around the section.
-
Enable Make section full width if you want the banner to span the full browser width.
-
Enable Make section rounded if you want rounded corners around the section.
-
Enable Parallax if you want the banner image to move with a parallax effect while scrolling.

Choose the Parallax direction:
- Vertical
- Horizontal
- Zoom

Click Save.
Use the layout settings to match the testimonials banner with your homepage, landing page, or brand story layout.
Troubleshooting
The Testimonials Banner section does not appear
-
Make sure the Testimonials Banner section has been added to the correct template.

Make sure the section is not hidden in the theme editor.
-
Make sure at least one Testimonial block has been added.
-
Make sure the testimonial block is not hidden.
-
Click Save and refresh the storefront preview.
The testimonial text is difficult to read
-
Increase Overlay opacity.
-
Choose a darker or lighter Overlay color depending on your image.
-
Change the Text color for better contrast.
-
Move the content using Content position.
-
Use a simpler banner image with less detail behind the text.
The mobile layout does not look correct
-
Upload a dedicated Mobile image.
-
Adjust Image height mobile.
-
Change Content position mobile.
-
Check the mobile preview in the theme editor.
-
Click Save and refresh the storefront preview.
The highlighted text does not show
-
Make sure the words you want to highlight are formatted in italic inside the Text field.

Make sure Highlighted text is not set to None.
-
If using the scribble style, choose a Highlighted scribble option.

Check that the highlight color has enough contrast with the banner image.
The parallax effect does not show
-
Make sure Parallax is enabled.
-
Choose a Parallax direction.
-
Check the storefront outside the theme editor, because some scroll effects can be limited inside the editor preview.

Check on desktop, because parallax behavior may be reduced on some mobile devices for performance reasons.
